DropSnip Privacy Policy

Summary

DropSnip processes all screenshots locally on your device. It does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data externally. AI auto-redaction runs entirely on-device with no cloud processing.

Data Collection

DropSnip does not collect any data. Specifically:

  • No analytics or telemetry of any kind
  • No screenshots or images are transmitted off your device
  • No personal information is gathered, stored, or shared
  • No cookies or tracking mechanisms are used
  • No usage data is logged or reported
  • No advertising identifiers

Screenshot Data

All screenshots you capture with DropSnip are processed entirely on your device. AI auto-redaction (detecting emails, API keys, credit card numbers, and other PII) runs locally using on-device models. No screenshot data is sent to any external server or cloud service.

Local Data Storage

DropSnip stores the following data locally on your device:

  • User preferences: Settings such as capture mode, annotation defaults, and beautify presets
  • Plugin configuration: Settings for any user-installed plugins

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to any external service.

Network Connections

DropSnip makes no network connections for core functionality. There are no update servers, no API calls, and no remote services required for capturing, annotating, redacting, or sharing screenshots.

Plugin System

DropSnip supports a JSON-based plugin architecture for custom actions and export targets. Plugins run locally on your device. If a user-installed plugin explicitly makes network requests (for example, uploading to a cloud service), that behavior is defined by the plugin, not by DropSnip. Review each plugin's documentation before installing.

Third-Party Services

DropSnip does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services.

No Account Required

DropSnip does not require an account, sign-up, or login. There is no user registration of any kind.

Children's Privacy

DropSnip does not collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL. Changes will be noted in the application changelog.
